"The Knight Center's School for Environmental Journalism was key in preparing me for the career I always dreamt of having." |
In my summer semester at Michigan State University I packed in a lot of hands-on experience so that I could get a job soon after graduation. A summer study abroad in Madagascar turned into a master's project and my first documentary, and my internship at National Geographic Television enabled me to land a job there. The Knight Center's School for Environmental Journalism was key in preparing me for the career I always dreamt of having. I currently work for the series Dangerous Encounters, an international wildlife show on the National Geographic Channel. I work on show development, pre-production and post-production of the series, which includes interviewing scientists, researching wildlife, and organizing logistics for shoots, both nationally and internationally. —Anisa Abid |
