Great Lakes Echo Launches

As news organizations downsize, there is an increasing need for quality reporting, especially on critical beats like the environment. Which is why the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism recently launched the Great Lakes Echo, an online news site that produces original content and congregates Great Lakes environmental news from around the region.
The Great Lakes Echo reports on critical environmental issues that are not being covered while highlighting important developments happening to the environment of the Great Lakes. So far, Great Lakes Echo has covered stories on stimulus funding going to Great Lakes states, the Great Lakes water compact, sediment plumes, carbon capture and storage, sustainable business and E-waste.
The Knight Center seeks support to fund original investigate environmental reporting within the Great Lakes basin and parternships with other journalism schools to diversify coverage.
